The Virginia Film Office is committed to providing opportunities for Virginians to get their start in the film and television industry.
The Film Office has worked with Virginia community colleges and universities on Film & TV Training Seminars (FTVTS). These two-day courses have taught the basics of production assistant training, scheduling, wardrobe and costuming. Classes have been held in Richmond, Roanoke and Fairfax, with other seminars scheduled for the future. In addition, the VFO is working with representatives of the military to bring veterans to these seminars.
The Virginia Production Alliance and WIFV are wonderful resources for classes, seminars, and other industry opportunities, year round.
Announcements regarding future classes will be made on the Film Office Hotline, the VFO Facebook page, the Workforce Development Facebook page, and the Virginia Production Alliance listserve.
