Students or recent grads may want to apply for one of the Virginia Film Office internships.

Film fans will want to attend the excellent film festivals held throughout the state.

Since the late 1980s the Film Office has sponsored the Virginia Screenwriting Competition, an opportunity for Virginia writers to have their work read and evaluated. Three prize winners are selected each year.

The Virginia Production Alliance is a statewide organization providing opportunities and advocacy for Virginia’s film and television production community. Sign up for the VPA listserv at no cost and receive information about jobs, events and opportunities. Visit the Virginia Production Alliance webpage for information. They have chapters in Richmond, Hampton Roads and Northern Virginia and host workforce development events on all aspects of filmmaking.
