Participants will learn:
- How actors actually get started in film, television and commercial work
- What type of acting training you need — and what you don’t
- Headshots, acting resumes and professional materials
- Where to find legitimate casting opportunities
- How self-tapes and auditions work
- The role of agents and talent representation
- Common mistakes new actors make that waste time and money
- How to create a realistic next-step plan for pursuing acting
The workshop also includes live acting and scene work, giving participants an opportunity to begin applying what they learn rather than simply listening to a lecture.
Each participant will receive a complimentary 15-minute strategy conversation with instructor Russ Randall following the workshop.
Instructor: Russ Randall, Founder of Final Act Drama
Russ Randall has more than three decades of experience in acting, communications, coaching and media production. Final Act Drama has provided actor training and creative-development programs in Virginia since 2007.
