-About-

The 11th Annual Richmond International Film Festival (RIFF) is one of the largest festivals in the Mid-Atlantic East with the city of Richmond consistently landing as a top indie cinema community and a rapidly growing music and arts scene.

This competitive festival selects more than 120 films from the U.S. and more than 15 countries, plus six days of industry panels, special guest events, filmmaker Q&As, nightly music showcases, the FLOW industry conference, and industry mixers that usher the spirit of Hollywood into Virginia’s historic Byrd Theatre, Bowtie, and several other venues throughout this historic city.

Awards:  More than 25 awards are given out each year by the Grand Jury at the annual red carpet awards for film, screenwriting, and music, plus Audience Choice Awards.  Recent year’s recipients included Danny Glover, Kate Bosworth, Lee Aronsohn, Eric Roberts, Governor Terry McAuliffe, Alfre Woodard, and more.

The FLOW Collective Creative Conference is a special industry perk for filmmakers and writers to take part in panels, pitch sessions and networking opps with some of independent film’s best across the globe.

An inclusive and spirited festival designed to honor cutting edge artists; RIFF accepts films of all genres (feature and short length) along with additional categories for screenplays, music videos, original teleplays, and web series.

All Official Selection attendees benefit from Q&A sessions after each screening, and receive passes to this six day festival event including the Flow Creative Conference with discussions on topics such as filmmaking, distribution, cinematography, financing, writing, script development, pitch sessions, and more.
