Seeking:

Caucasian Male, 55-65. (Irish accent preferable.) PRIEST, An ardent believer whose faith has recently been challenged and maligned by his granddaughter’s perpetual illness. Unable to reconcile his long-held beliefs with his circumstances, he grapples with uncertainty that is gradually eroding his joy, patience, and zeal for life. In many ways his relationship with God has become adversarial, and while he continues to go through the motions, internally he is fighting to suppress a relentless surge of bitterness, anger, and hopelessness.

ALTAR BOY, Any ethnicity Male, early teens. Eager and excitable, he is easily flummoxed, which often leads to a brief compromise of his reverence and composure. He respects and admires the PRIEST, although he is frequently bewildered by the holy man’s allusions, proverbs, and mutterings.
