STORYLINE
LOST CAT: Margot & Stevie are a young couple going through a rough patch. While searching for Stevie’s cat Salem (who appears to Margot as a monster), Margot realizes their relationship needs to come to an end.
SEEKING:
[MARGOT] 21yrs old, Female. Stevie’s long term girlfriend. Margot feels neglected and jealous of the attention Stevie gives Salem, and wishes that Stevie would consider her own feelings more. Margot can lash out in anger or sarcasm at perceived slights and jabs. She is convinced that Stevie’s cat, Salem, is out to get her and has an evil agenda in mind. Margot feels her relationship with Stevie is crumbling and projects these fears onto Salem, blaming him and turning him into a “monster”. Margot puts on a tough face, but feels alone and ignored in her relationship.
Actor must be comfortable with minor stunts to include choreographed trip/fall.
Shoots 3 days – $200/day – Monday July 5th, Tuesday July 6th, and Wednesday July 7th 2021
Final authorization for engagement of services is dependent upon university budget approval.
[STEVIE] 21yrs old, Female. Margot’s long term girlfriend. As Salem’s owner, she is a dedicated cat owner who constantly dotes on her pet. Stevie prioritizes Salem over Margot’s feelings, believing Margot to be purposely sabotaging attempts to find Salem. Stevie is often antagonistic towards Margot, using humor and passive aggressive sarcasm to spite her or belittle and dismiss her feelings.
They are considering the possibility of the roles of STEVIE and SALEM being played by the same actor. If this interests you please make a note of that in your submission.
Shoots 3 days – $200/day – Monday July 5th, Tuesday July 6th, and Wednesday July 7th 2021
Final authorization for engagement of services is dependent upon university budget approval.
SALEM – Any age, gender, or ethnicity. Stevie’s black cat. In his “monster” form he is a shadowy figure who is difficult to make out, with creepy but graceful, catlike movements. Salem does typical cat things in this form, such as killing small animals and giving them to Margot. He is playful and spoiled by his owner, Stevie. Margot believes he is spiteful and manipulative but he is just a relatively normal cat who can act on his own.
Background in dance preferred. They are open to this role being played by the same actor playing STEVIE.
Shoots 1 day – $200/day – Between 5th and 7th specific date TBD
