LOGLINE: When two Black students face two different sides of racism from their high school teacher, their guidance counselor helps them learn to work together to find a solution to their isolation.

CHARACTERS:
NOLAN (Black, male, 18-24) – An intellectual, reserved student who loves anime. Others would describe him as an “Oreo” or “token Black kid”. Although he excels in the academic area of school, he feels isolated from the rest of his peers and finds comfort in speaking with his guidance counselor.

TREYVON (Black, male, 18-24) – An outgoing student athlete who often gets mistaken as being a bad student. He’s charismatic and unapologetic about who he is and doesn’t take any disrespect.

MRS. STAPLES (Black, female, 35-45) – A warm and supportive guidance counselor, who prides herself on being a safe space for Black and Brown students. She’s non-judgemental and open to getting involved in her students’ lives when they need guidance. She won’t hesitate to give some “tough-love” when necessary.

MS. HOPEWELL (White, female, 27-35) – A fairly new, eager, and strict math teacher. She’s caught up in proving herself as a young teacher and fails to recognize her racist actions towards some of her students. Her classroom, her rules.
