Day Rate: $160/Shoot Day for five days, plus $20/day meal stipend & $20/day wardrobe – Final authorization for engagement of services are dependent upon university budget approval.

Shoot Location: Greater Richmond, VA

Please note, due to the limited budget this VCUarts Cinema student film, travel and accommodations cannot be provided. We would appreciate it if you make a note if you have accommodation in Richmond, Virginia, and are available to self-report. Free parking available at on-campus shoot location.

STORYLINE: As a last resort Rob calls upon his estranged mother, an excellent oncologist, to examine his boyfriend Matt who is dying of cancer. When that falls short he plans an epic fairytale adventure for Matt.

SEEKING:

[ROB HUGHES] – Any Ethnicity Man, early 20s, Rob is in a loving relationship with his boyfriend Matt. This is Rob’s first relationship and his homophobic mother does not approve. Matt is dying of cancer and has come to terms with it, and is not moving forward with any further treatment. Rob would do anything to get him help, even reaching out to his estranged mother. Ultimately, Rob accepts that one last adventure is the better way for Matt to live out his final days.
LEAD

[DR. HUGHES] – Any Ethnicity Woman, 50s
Rob’s Mother. Oncologist. Disapproves of her son Rob’s relationship with Matt. Her Hippocratic Oath is battling with her disdain for Rob’s relationship which she feels this is a phase that he will outgrow. She finds herself unable to render care for Matt.
SUPPORTING
RATE: $160/Shoot Day for five days, plus $20/day meal stipend & $20/day wardrobe for 5 days

[MATT] – Any Ethnicity Man, early 20s. In the final stages of cancer and simply enjoying spending time with his boyfriend Rob. Reading Grimm’s Fairy tales aloud is about as adventurous as Matt can be. Rob has other plans. Matt trusts Rob implicitly and is willing to go along with Rob’s wild plan knowing it will likely be the last thing he does. Matt does not want to squash Rob’s hopes of a fairy tale ending.
