Storyline: In rural 1990s Virginia, two hip-hop obsessed teens approaching high school set out to party with hip-hop royalty, only to find their path blocked by hillbillies and harsh realities.

Seeking the following:
[ANNIE] 16-18, white adolescent girl.
Just approaching high school, Annie has had to grow up fast. She has a hard home life, routinely missing school to take care of her younger sister because no one else will. A lonely teenager fluent in deadpan humor. Annie is annoyed by lots of things, especially Jay. Whether it’s a spiked collar or dark eye makeup, her goth style shows even in her fast food work uniform. A bit scary and unapproachable, although she has a soft spot when it comes to Bee and her romantic interest surprises her.

Must be comfortable with kissing scenes with a male high school classmate, profanity, and riding a bike. There will be an intimacy coordinator present.

[ALAN] 13 year-old white adolescent boy
A proud King of the Nerds. An expert gamer, confident in what he knows, especially in arguing the technological superiority of the GAME BOY. An indoor kid and mini-adult, who no one would suspect is getting into trouble. Observant, Alan has the intel and the strategy. He wants to play the social game too, and get in with the cool kids at the highschool party. Desperate to befriend Bee and Jay. When Alan sees an opportunity, he takes it.
Must be comfortable with profanity.

[DANNY COOK] Late 40s-50s white man.
Jay’s dad, Danny is the kind of man who’s time in the Vietnam war has left him angry and aloof. He’s a hard man, struggling to provide, and he takes out his frustrations on his family. He yells, he punishes, but in his own twisted way, he probably thinks he’s doing what’s best for Jay. Life didn’t give him many breaks, and he’s passing that tough reality down to his son, whether Jay likes it or not.

[HELEN COOK] Late 40s-50s white woman.
Makes the best of what she’s got, Helen is the glue barely holding the Cook family together. Treats Bee like her own. Turns a blind eye to a lot of what goes on, whether out of exhaustion or quiet survival, but you can tell she loves her kids and husband. She’s the warmth in Jay’s world, even if he doesn’t always appreciate it.

[SHERRI] 18-20-year-old black girl
Tough, no bullshit teenager. Cousin of Bee and treats him like an annoying gnat. Cooler than him so she needs to keep him at a distance. A small town highschooler initially mesmerized by the local rap celebrity, Tre Wyld. Cleans up well for church and family events, but her mother doesn’t know who she really is.

[TRACY] late 20s-early 30s white man
Jay’s hot-head older half-brother who still lives at home. Unconscious of how much of a mama’s boy he actually is. Wears heavy metal jean jackets, cut-off shorts and motorcycle boots. He’s rough and loves to scare his step-brother Jay, but ultimately is loyal to him. Into hunting, biking, beer, weed, and his girlfriend. Could take on his step-dad in a fight and would if he needed to. Puts 98% of his money into his truck and avoids responsibility for much of anything. Thrill-seeking. Thinks he’s a badass, but mostly he’s stuck.

Must be comfortable with kissing scenes with a female. There will be an intimacy coordinator present. Virginia Southern accent a plus.

[DIANA] late 20s-early 30s white woman
A thrill-seeking copilot. Fun, loves a party and really loves to party. These are her glory days. Diana is hot and she knows it. A “biker chick” without the bike. She’s the perfect counterpart to Tracy. Very aware of her effect on Jay and other boys. An exhibitionist, and likes to tease. Might even be called highly sexual. It’s all performative.
