10Nineteen Entertainment is now casting additional roles for the upcoming independent series SisterGirls, filming in Newport News, Virginia.

SisterGirls is a heartfelt, character-driven dramedy centered around five Black women navigating friendship, love, career, healing, womanhood, and the complicated beauty of showing up for one another through every season of life. The series brings positivity, depth, humor, and truth back to the screen while highlighting Black women, Black love, Black men, and stories that reflect real people, real relationships, and real community.

Production will film in three blocks: August, October, and November. We are currently casting roles for Block 1 and Block 2.

BLOCK 1 FILMING: AUGUST 21–25, 2026
Location: Newport News, VA

Age Range: 30–36
Seeking a handsome Black male with suave style and a commanding yet cool presence. Must be able to portray emotional depth, flirtatious charisma, confidence, and charm. Fashionable and well-groomed.

Seeking a tall, attractive Black male with strong dramatic and romantic intensity. Must be able to deliver charm and subtle emotional manipulation. Good physique preferred.

Miss Cookie, Charity’s Mother
Age Range: 40’s-50’s
Black Woman
Elegant, spiritual, sharp-tongued, and Southern-rooted with class and shade in equal parts. Cookie loves her daughter but does not baby her. She is wise, witty, regal, and emotionally grounded. Think the energy of Khadijah’s mom from Living Single and Cookie Lyons from Empire mixture. Must have strong comedic timing, wise energy, and the ability to deliver both emotional mother-daughter dynamics and witty zingers.

Mr. Richard, Xavier’s Father
Age Range: late 40s–60s
Black Man
A stoic but loving widower. A strong Black father who raised his children right and still mentors young men. He values integrity, family, legacy, and community. Seeking an actor with a commanding presence, warmth, respectability, and the energy of a man who has built something meaningful.

Black Male
Seeking a solid or stocky build Black male with charm, charisma, and strong comedic timing. Must exude confidence and warmth while also having good emotional range.

Confident, warm, intelligent, and naturally grounded. Must be able to bring nuance to a supporting role with an evolving presence.

Seeking an actor with authority, professionalism, and a grounded presence. Must be believable as a school principal or educational leader.

Seeking a teen actor with strong screen presence, emotional range, and natural authenticity for a featured role in Block 2 and forward.

Shanay
Age Range: 15–17
Black or Multiracial
An artistic introvert with quiet confidence. Shanay is a gifted visual artist who expresses herself more through her work than words. Observant and kind, she often surprises people with her maturity and depth. Seeking a teen actor who can convey strong emotion subtly.

Shannon
Age Range: 13–16
White, Latina, or Mixed
Energetic, chatty, and creative. Shannon is enthusiastic, full of questions, and loves poetry, writing, music, and all things creative. She is a great student with a big heart and a bright personality. Ideal for a young actor with charisma and comedic timing.

Tarik
Age Range: 14–17
Black
Talented, thoughtful, and passionate about spoken word and performing arts. Tarik is respectful, well-liked, and eager to learn. Must bring natural charm and a warm, authentic energy.

Additional Teen Roles
Mya, Carson, Trey, and other teenagers needed for featured classroom scenes in October. Seeking teen actors with natural presence, personality, and the ability to take direction well.
