PAID – SEEKING ACTORS FOR STUDENT FILM

My name is Angelica Salvador and I am a senior in the Cinematic Arts program.  I am shooting my senior thesis film this coming October 4-7 and am looking for some actors to fulfill my last role that I need!

“Kandila” is a drama that explores a strained relationship between a step-father and son during the funeral reception of the mother/late wife.  I am in need of one more actor to fulfill the role of Moe who is Filipino/Pacific Islander/Mixed with Filipino.  We will be filming October 4-7.  THIS WILL ALL BE FILMED IN THE LYNCHBURG, VA AREA. This is an ultra-low budget film but will try to pay what we can.

I will also need background actors as the funeral reception attendees, but those roles will unfortunately not be paid.  If you have any family members or friends who would like to be extras, please feel free to bring them along!  No specific race for the background actors.  Listed below is the description of the character.

Characters:

Moe

  • FILIPINO/PACIFIC ISLANDER. High schooler on the younger looking side.  A teenager who hasn’t figured out how to style his hair yet, still unsure of himself, a recluse, doesn’t talk about his feelings, and harbors in a lot of anger.  Moe does not want to be at this funeral reception; he doesn’t like anyone of his family.  The only one he loved was his mother, but she passed and is who’s funeral reception she is at.
