Georgetown University’s Center for Continuing and Professional Education is offering two courses in Screenwriting this Fall – Introduction to Screenwriting and Advanced Screenwriting: Narrative Workshop – via the virtual conferencing interface Zoom.
These affordable six-week classes are being taught by Kevin Downs, an independent filmmaker/writer who optioned four screenplays for theatrical films and held key creative positions with several Academy, Emmy, and Grammy Award-winning/nominated producers, directors, and recording artists. Kevin holds an MFA from NYU’s prestigious filmmaking program, and has numerous years of teaching experience at Georgetown. Many of Kevin’s former students are now working professionals at such established companies as DreamWorks, PBS, Showtime, and ESPN.
Our Zoom interface will host a digital but otherwise identical experience to our in-person classroom settings. Introduction to Screenwriting is open to all and begins on September 5. Advanced Screenwriting requires previous screenwriting experience and/or coursework and begins on October 31. A stable Internet connection and computer/smart device with a built-in microphone and webcam are required to participate.
