Hello everyone! I’m Scott, a student filmmaker based in Richmond, Virginia. I’m currently casting a film called AWAKE, shooting November 6th through 8th in Fredericksburg!
“Plagued by insomnia and sleep paralysis, a young man struggles to find peace as his hallucinations blur the line between dreams and reality.”
[CORY] 18-25. White adolescent male.
Wears simple, modern, slightly frumpy clothing, blending into the walls. Plagued by insomnia-related issues, his development is stunted by a mysterious father figure. Curious and naive, he walks the world trying to rid himself of nightmares, exploring places and things that he believes may provide “comfort.” Wanting control, Cory slowly realizes that the only things that can truly be scary are those based in reality.
LEAD, 3 days @ $150/day. Spatial intimacy is required.
[DR. AURORA] 30-35. Any ethnicity female.
A knowledgeable therapist who wears business- casual clothing. With the goal to bring an overall peace that she already possesses, she approaches Cory with professionalism, factual insight, and an understanding of how his experiences can be explained. However, even with experience and credentials, Cory’s questioning brings out a side of her that she rarely engages with. As Cory pushes back against her methods, she realizes that her professionality and factual insight may not be exactly what Cory needs.
SUPPORTING, 1 day @ $200/day.
[ROXANNE] 18-25. Any ethnicity female.
Wears comfortable but slightly-dated clothing. The ambiguous situationship tied to Cory, she repeatedly sees him at night, in more ways than one. Composed, articulate, and comforting, Roxanne finds peace in attempting to alleviate Cory’s insomnia. Providing a different perspective from his therapist, Roxanne aims to empathize rather than explain. Instead, she helps him become more comfortable with the idea that he doesn’t need to have total control over himself.
