DC – NBC News Seeking Production Manager – PAID – ASAP

The Production Resource Manager will report to the Senior Director of Operations & Engineering. This individual will be responsible for scheduling technical personnel, planning, establishing and communicating the production crew schedules, monitoring progress of production and providing support to Technical Managers for NBC News in Washington.

 

Job Duties

  • Work closely on staffing with the Technical and Production Managers for daily broadcasts and breaking news
  • Scheduling of field and studio technicians throughout the Washington DC area while ensuring that the productions have all necessary technical staff needed
  • Managing the Storm Scheduling System, and the Storm Coordinator
  • Managing last-minute changes in a high stress environment
  • Work closely with various production units within NBC Universal including: NBC News, MSNBC Show Units and NBC Network Crew Desk
  • Managing & updating crew contact database, seek out new talent for temporary assignments

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of technical resource management experience at the network level or an equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of broadcast production management experience at the network level or an equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or related field and/or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years Microsoft Excel (Tables, Pivot Tables, Template Creation)
  • 3+ years Microsoft Outlook (Calendar, Tasks, Email Rules, General Organization)
  • Willingness to work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
  • Willingness to work extended shifts on short notice to cover breaking news and developing news- assignments
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be 18 years or older
