Before there was a successful Indie short Film Festival, there was an Indie short Film Series. In 2019 the Series was founded featuring a monthly/every other month screening event showcasing a block of short films followed by a panel discussion with visiting filmmakers. Much of the lineup screened at major festivals, including the Sundance Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, and many others.
Due to popular demand, the event is returning to Charlottesville three times a year starting on July 25, 7pm.
IF YOU ARE A FILMMAKER, film submissions for the July event is open on FilmFreeway at: www.FilmFreeway.com/indieshortfilmseries The Series is accepting narrative live action, documentaries, animation, and experimental short films. FILMMAKERS will be invited to speak on a panel discussion immediately following the screenings.
Audience members will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite film to provide its filmmaker with the Audience Choice Award.
