Georgetown University – Spring Screenwriting Class

Introduction to Screenwriting, an affordable six-week class, is being offered by Georgetown University’s Center for Continuing and Professional Education on our campus, at 640 Massachusetts Avenue NW from May 7 to June 18.

Classes will be held in person and are being taught by Kevin Downs, a filmmaker/writer/educator with extensive professional experience working alongside Academy, Emmy, and Grammy Award-winning producers, directors, and recording artists. Kevin has optioned four screenplays for theatrical film and is the winner of awards and fellowships from the Louis B. Mayer Foundation, the International Telly Awards, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and World-Fest Houston. He holds an MFA from New York University’s prestigious Department of Film and Television and has 25-plus years of teaching experience at Georgetown. Many of Kevin’s former students are now working professionals at established companies like DreamWorks, Showtime, and ESPN.

Our classes are located conveniently near the Metro and are scheduled to accommodate the lives of working professionals. Class size is limited and early enrollment is encouraged. For a full course description and registration and tuition information, visit the link below.
