Get Ready for the Richmond 48 Hour HORROR Film Project!

Missed out on the summer’s hottest filmmaking event? Or you can’t get enough and wanna do it again? We are excited to bring the challenge back–this time HORROR style with the Richmond 48 Hour Horror Film Project, a thrilling challenge that invites you to write, shoot, and edit a short horror film in just 48 hours given a character, prop, line of dialogue and horror genre that you receive right before the clock starts! Mark your calendars for the weekend of October 18-20 and get ready for an adrenaline-pumping filmmaking experience.

Registration opens on Monday, August 12. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this spooky challenge!

To kick things off, we are hosting our first event: How to 48 Featuring Pure Artistry Productions. Join us for an insightful session with Jaclyn Vames (team leader and director), David Patterson (camera operator), and Alex Debord (editor), the talented team behind the winning film “Modern Love” from the Richmond 48 Hour Film Project this past July. Lisa Giles, Richmond City Producer, will also be in attendance to answer your burning questions.

Event Details:

  • Date: Tuesday, August 13
  • Time: 6:00 PM
  • Location: Richmond Public Library West End, 5420 Patterson Avenue
  • Cost: Free

This event is perfect for anyone exploring the 48 Hour Film Project for the first time or looking to level up their filmmaking skills. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from the best, get insider knowledge, and get inspired for your own horror masterpiece!

We look forward to seeing you there and can’t wait to see the spine-chilling films you create this October!
