Title: Black
Synopsis:
“Black” is about a young African-American male who recalls life lessons his father teaches him about what it means to be a black man in a society that stereotypes people according to their ethnic background.
Shooting: 3/31/17-4/8/17
Roles:
Jamal: Lead Character. Looking for an African-American male ranging from the ages of 18-24. Jamal is an very educated young man who strongly admires his father’s teachings. He is very independent, strong-willed, and is tired of being labeled because he is black.
Prof. Lane: Looking for African-American male ranging from the ages of 29-38. Professor Lane is a straight to the point teacher who wants to develop students to reach their highest potential. He is known to be a tough teacher who does not like shortcuts.
Male 1: Looking for an African-American male that is ranging from the ages of 18-24. This character is a typical urban dressed man who takes offense to the political system and injustice.
Male 2: Looking for an African-American male ranging from ages 18-24. Is more of a liberal when it comes to his viewpoints towards the justice and political system.
Sarah: Looking for a Caucasian female ranging from ages 18-24. She is initially judgemental, but she becomes open minded once she realized that all African-American males are not thugs.
John: Looking for a Caucasian male ranging from ages 18-30. John is a judgemental person who only has one perception of African-American males. His viewpoint is heavily displayed towards Jamal.
Extras: Looking for background actors for a library, classroom scene, as well as, a train scene. Various ethnic backgrounds are welcomed.
For library scene, extras ranging from 18-26 are preferred. Various ethnic backgrounds are welcomed.
For classroom scene, extras ranging from ages 18-24 are preferred. Various ethnic backgrounds are welcomed.
For train scene, extras ranging from 18-40 are preferred.
