Indie filmmakers have just until June 30th to submit their projects to the Roy W. Dean Film Grant for Summer 2022. Awarded to a film that is unique and that makes a contribution to society, the grant includes $3,500 cash and thousands more in donated film production services and products to help filmmakers complete their film.
From the Heart Productions, the 501(c)3 top-rated non-profit which has sponsored the grant since 1993, will also offer the Britt Penrod Award of $500 to an applicant with a film that makes an exceptional contribution to society.
Open to documentaries, narrative features, short films and web series, the grant seeks films budgeted at $500,000 or less. Films can be at any stage of production. Students are welcome to apply.
The donated services the grant winner receives includes $500 in grip, lighting, or expendables from Filmtools, a $1,295.00 Scholarship to Writers Boot Camp, 6 month membership to Documentors with full access to fund raising materials, discounted sound mix from Jeff Alan at Alan Audio Works, and more from many heartfelt donors.

Every Filmmaker Gets Help for Their Project by Just Applying
Since its inception, the Roy W. Dean Film Grant has offered something for applicants that is itself unique for a grant. Every filmmaker that applies for the grant has the opportunity to receive a 15-minute consultation on their submission. Filmmakers can get advice on how to find funding, build up a database of donors or investors, market their film, and more.
