Statewide – Hollins University Fall Students Available for Film/Arts Project Research Assistance

Opportunity: Research Assistance

This Fall, the course “Research for the Arts” at Hollins University is looking for research projects. University students in the class will work with a filmmaker or arts organization to provide research materials for an upcoming production or event. The final product will be a research dossier for the writer or director; educational materials for promoting a film (blog, newsletter, study packet, etc.); or related materials.

The filmmaker’s role is to choose the project for students to work on; ideally, students would spend their Fall semester creating material that could be used by you going into Spring or Fall 2021. It would also be wonderful if the student working on your project could interview you to learn about your work and its intended audiences.  The goal for this class is for students to understand the many forms research can take in creative work and its presentation.

Note: your participation can be limited to having one or two conversations with the course professor and the student, and providing feedback on one or two drafts of their work.
