Shenandoah University – Young Screenwriter’s Conference – Oct 12 – fee

Project Write, the Shenandoah Valley Writing Project, SU’s Department of Media and Communication, and Alamo Drafthouse Cinema are teaming up to bring a day of screenwriting and production workshops to the area.

Comic creator and screenwriter Joe Kelly will be the keynote speaker. He is most widely known as the author of the graphic novel I Kill Giants and worked on the screenplay for the movie adaptation. He is one of the founding members of Man of Action Entertainment and has earned accolades for revitalizing the Deadpool comics. Thanks to a grant from the Marion Park Lewis Foundation for Arts we are able to offer this conference for an especially low price.

The conference for high school students and their teachers will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019, on the campus of Shenandoah University in Henkel Hall from 9 am until 3 pm.

Cost: $35/person  $42/per person includes a screening of Joe Kelly’s film I Kill Giants at the Alamo Drafthouse at 5 p.m. following the conference.
