Casting one African American actor as an extra for historical video
Project Overview:
Based on an original screenplay, No Ordinary People is a short film in pre-production that will illuminate the true story of Ann, an enslaved woman from Maryland. In 1815, Ann threw herself out of a third floor window rather than be sold south and taken away from her husband and family. Richmond-based production company Field Studio will film live action video and audio, which will later be blended with professional animation. The final 10-minute video will be screened at film festivals and educational institutions across the country.
Role: Seeking one African American actor to serve as an extra representing Ann’s husband, an enslaved man named Ned (no spoken lines) with the following characteristics:
- Age: 40’s – 60’s
- Height: between 5’7″ – 6’0″
- Build: slender. Chiseled face and broad shoulders but thin torso
- Hair: close-cropped
- Clothing (actor will be asked to provide): henley-style long-sleeve shirt and loose- fitting trousers
Production date and time: Tuesday, October 18 from 3:30 – 5:00pm in Richmond
Expectations:
The extra will not have lines, but will be asked to interact with the actress playing Ann: kneeling next to her, hugging her, and pulling her away from another extra.
Pay: $50
