The 14th Annual Richmond 48 Hour Film Project season is heating up! Don’t miss your chance to be part of this fun, team-oriented, creative and competitive independent filmmaking event! Mark your calendars, and join us!

 

JUNE 12 HAPPY HOUR NETWORKING MIXER

You asked for it; you got it! Join us this Wednesday for our Happy Hour Networking Mixer. Want to join a team? Already have a team and need crew or talent? This is a great place to meet people and make it happen. Or just come socialize with us! We’ll be there to answer any questions you may have about the competition.

 

Everyone’s invited: editors, writers, DPs, actors, gaffers, grips, sound, composers, makeup artists, wardrobe, set designers, production assistants…

JUNE 25 CASTING CALL

Are you a team leader needing access to talent to cast your film? Are you talent looking to be in a 48 Hour Film? Then come to the only 48HFP Audition taking place Tuesday, June 25 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Mobelux, 1635 W. Broad Street. There’s plenty of parking across the street at Lowe’s.

 

Team Leaders…
1. must be registered for the 48 (www.48hourfilm.com/richmond).
2. must send an e-mail to richmond@48hourfilm.com to tell us you’re coming.
3. may bring your camera if you’d like.

Talent…
1. must prepare a 1-minute monologue to perform in front of the filmmakers.
2. must e-mail your name, phone number and time requested (5-minute intervals between 6:30-8:30 p.m.) to richmond@48hourfilm.com. Response indicates consent to audition being filmed. You will receive a confirmation e-mail providing your scheduled audition time.
3. should also bring multiple hard copies of headshots and acting resumes to distribute.

 

                We expect all audition slots to fill! If you are scheduled then subsequently need to cancel your audition, kindly let us know ASAP so someone else can take your slot.

Anyone present at the audition who is not pre-registered will not be permitted to attend.

 

 

JULY 12 FILMMAKING WEEKEND KICKOFF

Filmmaking weekend Kickoff at River City Roll is less than 5 weeks away, and it’ll be here before you know it! Given this competition limits your advanced preparation, it’s best to go ahead and get things out of the way that you can without breaking the rules:

 

  • Register
  • Scout/secure locations and permissions
  • Secure equipment
  • Recruit a team
  • Develop a craft services plan
  • Complete as much of your paperwork as you can

See the big screen debut of all films that are made in just 48 hours at our Premiere Screenings on Sunday, July 21 at The Byrd Theater in cool Carytown! AND this event is interactive! That’s right! YOU get to vote for your favorite films and help them win an Audience Favorite Award…and maybe even nudge them into the Best of Richmond Top Ten!
