Poe Film Festival – RVA – Oct. 25-27

The third annual Poe Film Festival, featuring contemporary films in the storytelling style of Edgar Allan Poe, will showcase two venues on the VCU campus in Richmond. Thanks to the support and leadership of the Robertson School for Media and Culture, all events are free to the public!

 

Friday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 pm: Opening Night Film, “Get Out,” will be shown at the Student Commons Theater, 907 Floyd Avenue, followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Shawn Utsey, chair of VCU’s Department of African-American Studies. 

 

Saturday, Oct. 26 at VCU’s Institute for Contemporary Art, 601 W. Broad St., our high school and college film events start at 9:30 am and 1 pm, respectively.  Also at ICA on Saturday at 7 pm, the festival will screen its best professional Poe-like short films. 

 

Sunday, Oct. 27 at 1 pm: At ICA, Official Selection films will be screened, followed by our Pro Film Awards.
