As the longest-running juried film competition in Virginia this event spotlights the year’s best short videos/films (20 minutes or less). A special guest judge chooses the top finalists at the screening and awards about $2000 in cash prizes. Many filmmakers will be on hand for Q&A, and the audience gets to vote for favorites.

This program has been presented since 1994 by the James River Film Society, a volunteer-run, nonprofit group dedicated to the art of film and film as art. jamesriverfilm.org
