Richmond — Independent filmmakers behind the award-winning drama series Sundays After Church are opening the doors to their creative process with “How We Shot It: The Sundays After Church Bootcamp,” an immersive one-day filmmaking intensive taking place on June 14, 2026, in Richmond, Virginia.
Hosted by Amanda Delore, the bootcamp gives aspiring filmmakers, actors, writers, content creators, and production professionals direct access to the team behind the acclaimed Richmond-produced project. Participants will learn how the production was developed, written, shot, and managed independently outside of the traditional Hollywood system.
The bootcamp will feature hands-on sessions covering:
Writing the Guerrilla Script
Pre-Production & Directing
Cinematography & Lighting on a Budget
Assistant Director Workflow & Set Management
Production Sound & Sound Design
Live Q&A Panel with all instructors
“In a time where independent creators are building their own platforms and distribution systems, this bootcamp is about showing people that high-level production can happen right here in Virginia,” said creator Eric Brown. “We want filmmakers to stop waiting for permission and start creating.”
The event reflects the growing movement of independent filmmakers creating sustainable media ecosystems, ownership opportunities, and hands-on training outside of traditional gatekeepers. Organizers say the event is designed to provide practical real-world production knowledge rather than theory alone.
Featured instructors include:
Eric Brown
Ethan Evans
Will Roye
Jonathan Jamar
Miles Hopkins
The bootcamp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with both half-day and full-day attendance options available.
