STORYLINE:

In an imaginative world, Ella constantly hopes for a happy home life. During a tutoring session, Ella finds out that her father and tutor are more than just acquaintances and her aspiration for a harmonious home life is shattered. Assumptions arise, and she realizes her visions of a complete family will always just be fiction.

 

SEEKING: 

[ELLA] – 10-14 yr., Black Female. Keenly observant and reserved, Ella struggles with math and sticks to herself. She’s easily distracted by the complexities of her parent’s non-traditional relationship. Frequently chooses to imagine family scenes how she would prefer them to be rather than how they actually are.

Must be comfortable going up/down stairs. Must have legible handwriting.

LEAD – Shoots: Three [3] days – $200/day – June 21st, 22nd, & 23rd, 2023

Final authorization for engagement of services is dependent upon university budget approval.

 

[ESHÉ] – Mid to late 30s, Black Female. Eshé is devoted to her work as an established novelist and publisher, she maintains the facade of her happy marriage even while questioning her husbands faithfulness. A caring mother and a headstrong writer, she would sacrifice anything for her daughter.

Must be comfortable going up/down stairs. Must be comfortable with children.

SUPPORTING – Shoots: Three [3] days – $185/day – June 21st, 22nd & 23rd, 2023.

[THOMAS] – Late 40s, Black Male. Thomas is a self-absorbed photographer with a wondering eye who is unconcerned by how his actions affect his surrounding world and family. A frequent drinker, he’d rather have an old fashioned over pancakes any morning. Because Thomas’ job requires him to travel so often, he tries to make up for his absence through superficial gifts.

Must be comfortable going up/down stairs. Must be comfortable with children.

SUPPORTING – Shoots: Three [3} days – $185/day – June 21st, 22nd & 23rd, 2023

[MS. MELISSA] – Late 20s, POC Female.  A teacher, Ms. Melissa tutors on the side to support herself. She has become a nurturing figure to Ella since her transition to middle school. Unaware that the man she is seeing is married with a family. Melissa finds herself in a conflict of interest, risking her and Ella’s relationship. She would never knowingly choose to be “the other woman” and is deeply upset when that realization hits.

Must be comfortable with children.
