Hi! We’re a group of VCU students who are trying to achieve our filmmaking dreams! We’re in search of actors for our surrealist short film BACKTRACKING which will be filmed in Richmond, VA.

STORYLINE: Preston is a 23 year old alcoholic working a desk job after graduating. Grappling with a lover’s spat, he drinks until unconscious. In his dream, he quickly finds out that he can’t escape and must come to terms with his addiction, or fear never waking up again.

[Preston] -White male-Early 20s
A straight, alcoholic recent college grad. His appearance is disheveled. He has just broken up with his girlfriend whom he is trying to get back together with.

[Maeve] -White Female – Early 20s
A lesbian and shopkeeper of a local flower boutique. She is a very level-headed woman and the voice of reason to her peers. She is an acquaintance to Preston and friends with Anjela.

[Anjela]-White Female – Early 20s
Preston’s girlfriend. She is a bisexual girl who is highly intelligent and logical. She is empathetic and tries to help Preston.

[Franco]-Hispanic Male – Early 20s
A problematic individual and a bad influence on Preston. He encourages Preston’s problem of being an alcoholic. He is slightly buff and wears athletic clothes.

[John] – White Male – Early 30s
A charismatic co-worker of Preston’s who looks put together. He is Preston’s ideal representation of how his future is supposed to look.
