Richmond – Casting Call for short film – 3/28/23 – Pay Increase

Casting Notice for the new, upcoming short film “BLACK on BLACK” to be included in short series “When Will Our Black Lives Ever Matter” by Vision Filmworks and TIMELESS PRODUCTIONS. Looking to cast multifaceted and multitalented actors for the following characters:

KAREEM- (AA, age range 25-40, lead male) an aspiring R&B singer/rapper who is in the process of shooting a music video towards his love interest. Must be an R. Kelly or Jay Z type (circa early 2000s). MUST KNOW HOW TO RAP AND SING (or at least carry a tune) and hold his own during a rap battle. Pay: $125

KALIMBA: (AA, age range 21-40, lead female) a strong Alpha female who happens to be the mother of Kareem’s children. Must be a Lauryn Hill or Erykah Badu type (circa early 2000s). MUST KNOW HOW TO RAP and hold her own while rapping in a rap battle. Pay $125

BETH- (C, age range 21-40, supporting) Kareem’s love interest for his music video. Must have that video vixen look, a Kim Kardashian or Kylie Jenner type. Pay $100

Shoot Location will be held in Richmond, VA on March 28st. Shoot is from noon-4pm. This is a non-union project.
