Richmond – Basic On Camera Workshop – June 11, 18 and 25 – Fee

John Moon will be hosting a 3 evening 9-hour workshop will take place on Sundays, June 11, 18 and 25.

Geared primarily for stage actors with little or no film experience this workshop is designed to cover the basics of working on camera. All work is recorded so that you can learn to examine your own performance as well as learn from others. Students receive copies of their work. The workshop is also designed to cover the business of working in a regional market.

Sunday June 11, 7-10pm – (3 Hours)

Will cover: understanding the basic differences between stage and film,  aural vs. visual mediums and working within the frame. Will also cover individual scene work – (scenes will be provided prior to the first class and actors are REQUIRED to arrive off-book so they can work on camera), and what it takes to be ready when you show up on set through text analysis.

Sunday June 18, 7-10pm – (3 Hours)

Students will be paired up to work on scenes and the focus of this evening will be taking what you learned in the previous week and using it with a partner. Again, students are REQUIRED to be off-book for this session.

Sunday June 25, 7-10pm – (3 Hours)

Auditioning – will cover what to expect, how to stand out, cold reading strategies, self taping, internet and local casting resources, and what to expect once you are on the set.

The cost is $100 per person and is limited to the first 12 people that sign up so that everyone works in every class. Classes will be held at SUITE (Anne Chapman Casting) in Scott’s Addition. If you want to participate or if you have questions, please contact John at moonjc@comcast.net. If you are new to the class, please include a picture/resume.
