Here Lies Beatrice
Storyline:
Rural Virginia, 1956, Here Lies Beatrice is the story of a mother’s ‘assumed’ last day alive, in which she prepares for her death, trying to hide the truth from her daughter.
SEEKING:
BEATRICE WILLARD: Caucasian, female, 50-60. Guarded yet loving mother. Owns and runs a laundry service out of her rural home. Uses humor to shield bottled up emotions. Not afraid of hard, physical work, embodying a ‘get on with it’ spirit. When confronted with a possible fatal illness, she desires to keep her daughter from worrying. Confusion surrounds, as her illness and menopause have graphic, overlapping symptoms. Must be comfortable hanging laundry on a line and using a shovel to dig a ditch.
Shoots 3 days @ $200/per day.
ELAINE WILLARD: Caucasian, female, early 20’s. Humble, nurturing, and responsible. Happily lives and works with her mother, but also has a part time job at the local doctor’s clinic. A people watcher. Wants to use her strong sense of empathy to forge a deeper connection with her emotionally distant mother.
Shoots 3 days @ $200/per day.
