YESTERDAY WHEN
STORYLINE: After discovering his cancer is terminal, a man decides to overdose while attending his high school reunion with the hope of making a meaningful connection before he dies.
SEEKING:
THOMAS: Male, 28yrs old, Any Ethnicity. A socially awkward, kidney cancer patient, who has just found out his diagnosis is terminal. Having had to give up his job and move back in with his mother, his dependence on her embarrasses him and makes him feel juvenile. Thomas’s father died of the same cancer 8 years ago. A realist and not wanting to over burden his widowed, worried mother he decides not to share this final diagnosis. Usually uncomfortable with his emotions Thomas can not deny his deep desire to reconnect with Amelia, an old friend and long term crush from high school, before he dies. A high school reunion might not be the best place for this quest.
Shoots 3 days – $150/day – Thursday, June 7th, Friday, June 8th & Saturday, June 9th, 2018
AMELIA: Female, 28yrs old, Any Ethnicity. Confident and gregarious with a warm, bubbly personality. Charmingly oblivious to her own popularity and attractiveness. A friend to everyone including THOMAS. She was unaware of his crush on her in high school. She enjoyed their long friendship but would have politely declined had he asked her out. Success comes easily to AMELIA, an overachiever in high school who attended a top university and is doing very well at an exciting job. She is looking forward to having fun at her reunion.
Shoots 1 day – $125/day – Saturday, June 9th, 2018
MARGARET: Female, mid 50s, Any Ethnicity. Struggling with a very hectic, unhealthy life, that leaves no time for exercise or leisure activities due to her son’s illness. Currently working two jobs, to make ends meet and pay for THOMAS’s cancer treatment. It’s been very painful to watch her son live with the same disease that killed her husband. MARGARET enjoys her teaching job, smiles through her grocery cashier job but dreams of when she can start writing a novel, or even just going out with friends for the evening. Life has not turned out how she imagined, but has no regrets about prioritizing her husband and now her son over her own dreams. Her concern can come across as overbearing at times.
Shoots 1 day – $125/day – Thursday, June 7th, 2018
JACKSON: Male, 28yrs old, Any Ethnicity. Out going and a bit cocky, his friends would describe him as “a bro”. He and THOMAS played soccer in high school. Jackson went on to play D2 soccer in college and thoroughly enjoyed his frat days. He’s been coaching at a local high school ever since. Has never really made a life plan, but is starting to realize, he is at an age, where it isn’t cool to get trashed every weekend.
Shoots 1 day – $125/day – Sat urday, June 9th, 2018
Dr. GARCIA: Male or Female, 30s-40s, Any Ethnicity. Oncologist. Well meaning, doesn’t like dark humor. Hates giving bad news, and naively has developed the habit of sugarcoating anything negative for their patients, which ultimately, makes it worse.
Shoots 1 day – $125/day – Friday, June 8th, 2018
