If you’ve been waiting for an excuse to make something, meet other filmmakers, challenge yourself creatively, or get your work onto the big screen, this is it.
Over one adrenaline-filled weekend, teams will write, shoot, edit, and deliver an original short horror film in just 48 hours. At Kickoff, each team will draw a horror genre and receive a required character, prop, and line that must appear in the film. Then the clock starts ticking.
And 48 hours later… you’ve made a movie.

The Best Film winner advances to Filmapalooza 2027 on the sunny Caribbean island of Curaçao to compete in the 48 Hour Film Project’s Best Special-Genre competition—and will be eligible for consideration for a spot in the 48HFP screening at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner.
