Richmond – 48 Hour Film Project – June 2026 – Register

The Richmond 48 Hour Film Project is back! And it’s not too late to make your mark on local, independent film! Fimmaking weekend is just 3 weeks away, June 5-7!

MAY 19 – Networking Mixer at The Hof, 2818 W. Broad St., Richmond, 6:00 PM

Meet directors, writers, actors and crew! Don’t have a team yet? This is where you find one! No need to register. Just show up! Parking in Scott’s Addition is a challenge, so plan ahead!

MAY 22 – Regular Registration Ends at 7 p.m.

Register now, pay $178. Register later, pay $198.

May 27 – Auditions at The Hof, 2818 W. Broad St., Richmond
Actors, this is your chance to be seen by the registered teams and get cast in a film! Register HERE.

June 5 – Kickoff at The Hof, 2818 W. Broad St., Richmond

Teams, this is where you receive your required elements: character, prop, line of dialogue and genre and what starts your 48-hour filmmaking journey. Films due Sunday, June 7 by 7:30 p.m. to be eligible for judge awards, midnight to be considered for Audience Choice only. No films accepted after midnight. One person per team MUST show up, but it’s more fun when everyone comes! Kickoff starts at 6 p.m. sharp! Parking in Scott’s Addition is impossible, so plan ahead!

June 14 – Premiere Screenings at The Historic Byrd Theatre, 2908 W. Cary St., Richmond

Come see all the films that made the deadline, surrounded by the makers themselves and the whole independent creative community at RVA’s most iconic theatre located in the heart of Carytown. Tickets HERE–and they’re already selling! And don’t forget to vote for your favorite to win Audience Choice!

June 16 – Finalist Announcement on Instagram Live

June 21 – Best of Richmond Finale at the Historic Byrd Theatre, 2908 W. Cary St., Richmond
See the finalists again at this special encore screening, immediately followed by the awards ceremony, which crowns Richmond’s winner, which will advance to the grand global finale at Filmapalooza, held on the sunny island country of Curacao in March 2027 to compete against other winning films from cities around the world! AND a shot at Cannes! Awards for Best Film, Best Writing, Best Cinematography, and more will be presented.
