Northern VA – Seeking creative producer for film – Spring 2020 – Paid

Writer / director of a graduate thesis short film (fictional drama), is searching for an experienced producer to partner with. This is a PAID position.

About the film:

LOGLINE
Faced with a controversial vote to change the racially charged name of a local high school, a black school board member must choose between advancing his career or respecting his history.

SYNOPSIS
Duane Trent (41), a black Deputy Superintendent in a conservative Virginia school district, has constructed the life that he’s always wanted— a loving family and an accomplished career. When his daughter, Parker Trent (18), a biracial teen returns home from college with an appreciation for black culture that her predominantly white family has never shown, she challenges her father to use his position as one of the few black figures in their community to spark meaningful change. In the days leading up to a vote that could remove a confederate general’s name from the local high school, Duane must decide what his culture means to him and whether it’s worth risking his personal and professional affiliations.

-Existing Relationships w/ DMV Casting Agencies and Film Crew
-Fundraising Experience
