Film Synopsis: A slice-of-life drama-comedy about a young man named Winston transitioning into high school as he battles loneliness, self isolation and an overactive imagination. When he meets a group of friends at his new school that truly accept him for who he is and want to genuinely spend time with him, he makes a connection unlike anything he’s ever felt before.
Roles needed–
WINSTON (lead, male, 11-16)
* An apathetic young man who has a lot of trouble looking people in the eyes. He doesn’t see color or meaning in anything, which has left him in self-isolation for an entire summer before starting his first day of high school.
BRENNAN (supporting, male, 11-17)
* A warm-hearted fellow with an equally warm smile, though underneath he battles insecurity. But when he’s with his friends, he feels free to express himself and his interests without fear. He’s very protective of these friends and his family. He wants to enjoy his high school life the best he can, and make the new kid (Winston) feel welcome in their group.
MAVE (supporting, male, 11-18)
* A confident young man who’s carrying a lot of pain and guilt inside, which he passes on by bullying other people. This causes anger in him, but he masks it with humor and show-boating. He’s got a curt smile and is always looking for an opportunity to be seen as the best guy in the room.
