Fredericksburg Square was one of the few buildings to avoid damage during the Civil War battle in this beloved Virginia city. Since then, through extensive renovations and additions, this old building with new tricks has been home to the Order of Elks, the five-star restaurant Augustine’s, and, currently, Water’s End Brewery. And in 2024, from April 3rd-7th, Fredericksburg Square will play host to a new, exciting endeavor: the first annual Fredericksburg Film Festival.
At Fredericksburg Film Festival (FFF), we celebrate the creation of creative, innovative, independent cinema, from short films to narrative and documentary features. Submissions to FFF are now open, and the extended deadline will close on February 1st, 2024. We will screen the selected films in the Jefferson Room at Fredericksburg Square. The screenings will be followed by an awards ceremony on Sunday, April 7th, and the festival will end with additional screenings for our award-winning films.
Each film will be paired with a delicious craft beer from Water’s End. Water’s End is an award-winning craft brewery and member of the Fredericksburg Area Beer Trail, brewing wonderful beers such as the Don’t Haze Me Bro! IPA and Damn Beer Golden Ale. Each feature film will be paired with a full pour of a selected beer, and each block of short films will be paired with a beer flight.
If you have a film that you would like to submit, we encourage you to do so on FilmFreeway by February 1st, 2024. Tickets for FFF will be available once our films have been selected, and can be purchased through fxbgfilmfest.com. For any questions regarding submissions, please contact our Programming Director, Ryan Cudahy, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Fredericksburg Film Festival is a can’t miss, one-of-a-kind event in both Fredericksburg and the film community at-large, and we are excited to begin this creative journey! Follow FFF on Facebook.
