Background:

Hello, my name is Matthew Vargas and I am a senior undergraduate film student at George Mason University. I am seeking to fill two roles in my upcoming senior thesis film, “Clementine”, a 10-minute short narrative psychological fiction film about an elderly woman, Clementine, who suffers from dementia as she seeks her way home while her grandson and caretaker, Alex, helps her find her bearings. The story is told from Clementine’s perspective and is meant to be a simulation of dementia. The project was awarded a competitive grant from my University as a student academic research project for the purpose of seeking empathy of dementia patients.

The story is largely based on my experiences with my own grandmother and is essentially in tribute to her.
