DC – Docs in Progress Fellowship Deadline Approaching – Jan. 11

Now in its fifth year, the Docs In Progress Fellowship gives up to ten Washington DC-area filmmakers each year a facilitated support system to develop documentary works-in-progress. Over the eight months of each Fellowship cohort (February-September), Docs In Progress provides selected filmmakers monthly facilitated meetings where they come together to share progress with their projects and get feedback and advice on issues related to the documentary landscape, work/life balance, and the creative process. This year, thanks to support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Fellows will also get passes to and accommodations at the renowned Full Frame Documentary Film Festival. The deadline to apply is next Tuesday, January 17.

They are holding an information session by phone tomorrow (Wednesday, January 11) at noon which will include an overview of what to expect from the program and the application process, and will include the opportunity to hear from and ask questions of several Fellowship alums. The call-in number is (712) 432-0185 and the Access Code is 250-284-548.

NOTE:  This Fellowship opportunity is open to filmmakers based in Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia (within a 90 minute drive of Washington DC).
