– Light House Studio is excited to announce that Director Tim Story and Cinematographer Larry Blanford will be joining us for a special discussion on April 28th at the Vinegar Hill Theatre. This unique Meet the Filmmakers event is open to the public and pay what you can.
Story and Blanford will provide a glimpse into the inner workings of major Hollywood productions. Together they’ve made nine films, including Fantastic Four, Ride Along, and Shaft. Currently, they are working on a film called The Pickup starring Eddie Murphy, Eva Longoria, and Pete Davidson. Through stories from the set and example clips, they will discuss the important creative collaboration that happens between the Director and Cinematographer (Director of Photography).

For over twenty years, Light House Studio has been equipping students with the skills and confidence to tell their stories and build community through collaborative filmmaking. We seek to foster a community of flourishing students, storytellers, and citizens.
In 2023, Light House taught 85 workshops to 1,258 students, resulting in over 353 completed films; partnered with 58 local nonprofits and schools; had 47 student films accepted to 38 different film festivals, with 13 films receiving awards; and provided 63% of students with scholarships allowing them to attend at free or reduced cost. 98% of our students reported improved creativity; 96% improved their collaboration skills; and 94% improved storytelling and critical thinking skills.
