Hello,
We experienced a very successful 2026 Indie short Film Festival in the heart of Charlottesville, Va. The festival included the screening of 131 films, a screenwriting competition, table reads, Brunch Awards, seven panel discussions, post-screening Q&As, a cinematography workshop, a launch party, a filmmaker and sponsor lounge, and it received a Proclamation from the city of Charlottesville presented by the mayor at the launch event.
We owe our success this year to our filmmakers, sponsors, and patrons. Every year we expand the festival based on what we believe will provide opportunities for filmmakers in that ecosystem.
We have launched the IsFF Greenpitch Film Pitch Competition at the 2027 Indie short Film Festival. The winner will receive $5,000 to produce a short film which will premiere at the 2028 festival. There are three phases of the pitch process: 1) FREE Online Application at www.Indieshortfilmfestival.net/greenlight-film-pitch 2) Selected applicants will submit a full pitch deck, and 3) Up to eight finalists will be invited to pitch in-person on March 20th at the festival.
Lastly, next year’s festival is now open for early bird submissions. Submit early and save at www.FilmFreeway.com/Indieshortfilmfestival
Good luck.
