Arlington – Senior Associate Needed at PBS Kids – Full Time – Paid

Position Overview:

PBS KIDS, the number one educational media brand for kids, offers all children the opportunity to explore new ideas and new worlds through television, digital platforms and community-based programs. Kidscreen- and Webby-award winning pbskids.org provides engaging interactive content, including digital games and streaming video. PBS KIDS also offers mobile apps to help support young children’s learning in literacy, science, math and more.

 

The Senior Associate supports and contributes to the content development and production of PBS KIDS digital content and ensures that content supports the overall PBS KIDS strategy and goals across platforms.

 

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

·         Manage scheduling and curation of PBS KIDS content across PBSKIDS.org, the PBS KIDS Games App and other digital products to support key programming and promotional priorities.

·         Responsible for updating and maintaining the digital content pipeline for PBSKIDS.org, PBS KIDS games app, producer sites and the mobile app portfolio as well as internal teams

·         Support coordination of production and launch of PBS KIDS promotional events.

·         Analyze and report out on PBS KIDS game event trends and analytic tracking to inform game mechanics, game updates and launch strategies

·         Support QA scheduling for series sites and games and review QA reports as-needed.

·         Support the PBS KIDS Playtesting Program & content managers playtesting sessions

·         Interface with internal departments (PBS KIDS Marketing and PBS KIDS Programming) on digital content promotions pipeline

·         Inform and contribute to production policies and documentation

·         Research and report on latest mobile trends and emerging technologies and platforms

·         Serve as integral member of PBS KIDS Content team, participating in group projects and discussions, review new series proposals, and staying up-to-date on research and related trends._

·         Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements for success:

·         At least 2 years experience in digital publishing or media production or in equivalent combination of education and experience

·         Previous experience developing educational online resources for children ages 2-8

·         Bachelor’s degree with major in: educational technology, communications, education, or related field

·         Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

·         A positive team player and a creative problem-solver who can effectively collaborate with colleagues from multiple disciplines.

·         Superior organizational skills and orientation to details such as the ability to set a schedule and keep to deadlines, prioritize tasks, maximize efficiency and present data effectively.

·         Proficiency in and/or ability to learn relevant software, programs, etc.

·         Product development experience within children’s media preferred

·         Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire to be considered. Proof of vaccination required.
