A rapidly growing DC-based TV development & production company, The Content Farm, is looking for a creative and ambitious video editor to join the team.
They are in production on a major music-focused TV series with “A List” talent, for worldwide television distribution in early 2016. In addition, they have 2 other projects nearing production and 6-10 in various stages of development. This position will be 80% focused on the music series, with some additional work cutting sizzle reels, editing shorts, some commercial work and more. They are seeking a quasi in-house editor. This will be a part-time salaried position.
Duties associated with this position include, but are not limited to: assisting in the editing of all episodes, web extras and interstitials, as well as and designing on air TV commercials, rough cutting media for future videos, formatting and encoding videos for broadcast and internet distribution, organizing and maintaining the firms growing video library, and preparing sizzle and teaser reels. Music video and concert editing experience is an absolute requirement!
In addition, please have experience with the usual stuff: – Strong knowledge of editing software – Understanding of codecs, exporting, transcoding, converting video files and data management – Experience in implementation of solutions for storage, playback, and archiving of media – Organizing stock b-roll footage for future video projects – Experience with motion graphics – Delivery of finished content for TV and web use – Able to collaborate on projects with Producer, Production Manager & Director of Photography – Strong project prioritization skills and attention to detail.
Also, you should be able to multi-task high priority projects on tight deadline (i.e., work evening and weekends as needed) and be adaptive and flexible to the changing needs of the workplace. Please have a creative vision, knowledge of after effects and other production elements, and be up to date in industry developments, new technologies and best practices. Personality counts too, so please have outstanding communication skills, a sense of humor and maturity.
