The Roy W. Dean Short Film Grant is now open for entries. The grant offers the winner $3,000 and thousands more in donated services to help them complete their film. The grant is sponsored by the 501(c)3 non-profit From the Heart Productions which is dedicated to helping independent filmmakers get their films funded.
The grant seeks short films that are unique and that make a contribution to society. Grant is open to narrative fiction shorts, live action or animated, that are 40 minutes or less in length.
In addition to the $3,000 cash prize, the winner will also receive $3,000.00 in music and audio services from well-known composer David Raiklen, $6,000.00 in animation from Emmy award winner Charlie Canfield, $1,400 value (4 hours of sound mix session) from Silver Sound, and more from other donors supporting indie filmmaking.
Deadline for the Roy W. Dean Grant for Short Films is April 29th 2024.
All Filmmakers Who Apply Get a Free Consultation
Like the other Roy W. Dean Grants offered each year, applicants receive the opportunity for a 15-minute consultation on their project with board member Carole Joyce. Filmmakers can get advice on how to fund their film, build up a database of donors, market their film, and more.
“Carole was knowledgeable, caring, and suggested networks for me to connect with. She gave me so many things to think about and some homework to complete for my project. I appreciate the time attention given for my consultation.” Alyscia C
