Richmond – Sync, Scores & Songwriting for Cinema Event – August 27th – Register

Richmond Film Network Presents
SONIC STORYTELLING: Sync, Scores & Songwriting for Cinema

Richmond is a city bursting with musical and cinematic talent. What happens when those worlds finally collide? Join us for an electric evening that peels back the curtain on the soundtrack of independent film and reveals the stories of sync licensing, scoring, and songwriting from three of Richmond’s most compelling musical minds. Featuring:

  • Ellis Williams – seasoned trumpeter, vocalist, composer, and songwriter whose 25-year music career blends artistry with industry savvy. A Norfolk State and Full Sail grad, he runs E Willz Entertainment, oversees sync operations at Mirror House Music Group, and serves as a Recording Academy voting member.
  • Stephen Schneider – Stephen composes music for independent film & media, crafting immersive, story-driven compositions that range from atmospheric soundscapes to melody driven themes, taking listeners through a journey of suspense and catharsis.
  • Deau Eyes – Ali Thibodeau, known on stage as Deau Eyes, is an award-winning Richmond-based singer-songwriter whose journey began busking on the streets of New York City. She’s since toured the world, opening for artists like Lucy Dacus, The Head and The Heart, and Illiterate Light. With over 15 years in arts education, Ali also founded Deau Studio, where she mentors emerging singers and songwriters.

…and moderated by filmmaker/actor MK Martey.

Whether you’re a filmmaker in search of the perfect composer or a musician curious about licensing your tracks for film and TV, this panel will get you out of your creative silo and into the room with the collaborators you’ve been waiting for.
