CROSS MY HEART

STORYLINE:

Sharp witted Lydia escapes the drudgery of her nine to five by singing at a punk bar with her best girlfriends, that is, until a predatory man targets one of them and her fury turns to bloodlust.

SEEKING:

[LYDIA] – Woman of color, early 20s. Sharp-witted and fiercely loyal. By day, she’s a buttoned-up corporate professional, but by night she finds solace at Rookies, a bar where she can be herself. Music is her escape, she is an excellent singer, both comfortable and charismatic on stage. Confident without being arrogant. Lydia carries deep frustration over the way she is treated at work, particularly by her boss and male colleagues. Protective, headstrong and physically capable, she is willing to take matters into her own hands when those she loves are wronged.                                                                                                                                                  MUST BE AN EXCELLENT SINGER and comfortable with choreographed fighting. [SERENA] – Woman of color, early 20s. Lydia’s best friend and roommate, Serena is soft and reserved, with a quiet strength beneath her vulnerability. Grew up baking and is working a corporate job until she has enough saved to open up her own bakery. Still discovering her sexuality. She is recovering from a traumatic experience with Zach, which leaves her feeling confused and questioning her own worth. Though hesitant to take action, she finds comfort in Lydia’s unwavering support.
