Do Not Rewind is a non-union horror/thriller short film currently casting in Richmond, VA!
Content Warning: This project contains scenes depicting psychological trauma, stalking, gaslighting, body horror, self-harm, and graphic injury (including tooth extraction and finger mutilation). Actors should be comfortable portraying emotional distress and physical discomfort in a confined setting.
Note: All scenes involving physical effects will be coordinated with safety and sensitivity in mind. We welcome performers who prioritize boundaries and open communication.
Logline
Trapped in a windowless room with only a VHS tape for company, Eden must decode the cryptic warnings of her predecessor, Jess, to escape a stalker’s twisted psychological prison — before she becomes his next victim.

We are seeking the following:
EDEN – Any ethnicity, female, 20s – 30s. Athletic build. Resilient, sharp, and emotionally raw. A survivor thrust into a nightmare scenario. Must convey terror, rage, and resourcefulness with minimal dialogue. Physical performance is key.
MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH: Body prosthetics. Fake blood/wound makeup. Simulated vomiting.
LEAD – $200/day – Shoots: One or two [1-2] days between Sept 25 and Sept 30, 2025. Rehearsals paid at $25/hr (3 hrs max).
JESS – Any ethnicity, female, 20s – 30s. Unraveling and haunted. A woman on the edge, forced to relive her trauma through a confessional lens. Requires intense emotional range and comfort with body horror elements.
MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH: Body/facial prosthetics. Fake blood/wound makeup. Simulated seizing. Fall to a crash mat. Movement, stunt/stunt choreography experience a plus.
LEAD – $200/day – Shoots: One or two [1-2] days between Sept 25 and Sept 30, 2025. Rehearsals paid at $25/hr (3 hrs max).
THE STALKER – Any ethnicity, male, 30s – 50s. Mostly unseen, but his presence looms large. A manipulative predator whose obsession manifests through surveillance and psychological torment. Long, shaggy hair under which he hides his face, preferred. Appears for one scene in the climax. No speaking lines.
MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH: Body prosthetics. Fake blood/wound makeup. Fall to a crash mat. Movement, stunt/stunt choreography experience a plus.
SUPPORTING – $175/day – Shoots: One [1] day between Sept 29 – 30, 2025. Rehearsals paid at $25/hr (3 hrs max).
All actors must be local to Richmond, VA, or willing to work as a local. Must be able to self-report to set. No budget for travel/lodging will be provided. Meals will be provided on set.
