Casting for a student short film “The Body Electric” directed by Michelle Ghee, a VCU Cinema student. All roles are paid and meals will be provided.
Mrs. Dorothy Campbell. Lead. 50’s. Black/African American. Sophisticated, eagle-eyed, polite. Wife of Victor Campbell and the picture of respectability. After taking in the lovely and apparently destitute Dorothy as a surrogate daughter, her decades-old marital resentments begin to emerge.
Mr. Victor Campbell. Lead. 50’s. Any ethnicity. Condescending, irritable, restless. Attempting to maintain the cover of secrecy after his mistress-robot develops sentience and swears revenge for his wife. Cut from the same cloth as Mrs. Campbell.
Miss Dorothy Campbell. Supporting. Late teens. Black/African American. Bright-eyed, clever, ruthless. Having developed a maternal attachment to her predecessor, she acts out a computational plan to separate the Campbells.
