“Forgetting, and Other Deadly Weapons” is a student-produced narrative short film advocating for gun control through the lens of childhood innocence in literature.
Logline: A young woman’s devastating discovery in a small-town school library leads her to explore literature and writing as an outlet for grief.
Roles:
Ana (female, early-mid 20s, any race): passionate writer, values individuality, empathetic towards Louis.
Louis (male, 10-14, any race): grieving the loss of his sister in a school shooting, seeking connection in an environment that ignores his tragedy.
Esther (female, 40-60, any race): Ana’s coworker, encapsulates the town’s refusal to face their shortcomings.
Amelie (female, 8-10, any race): non-speaking role, Louis’s sister with a passion for literature and imagination.
