Storyline: In rural 1990s Virginia, two hip-hop obsessed teens approaching high school set out to party with hip-hop royalty, only to find their path blocked by hillbillies and harsh realities.
Seeking the following:
[BEE JACKSON] 14-18, Black adolescent male. Always along for the ride and just enough street smarts to survive adventures with his best friend Jay. A military brat with strict parents, Bee is always attuned to when fun turns into trouble. He’s loyal, but too small to win any fights, and he knows it. Has a wild streak, especially when it comes to impressing older women. Freer and more confident when he’s out with Jay. Sharp-witted and funny. Loves music and has hip-hop aspirations. He’s still working on his craft, but is a more naturally gifted rapper than Jay. True to his roots, he also has a slight, natural southern drawl.
RATE: SAG ULB scale for [19] days
Must be comfortable with kissing scenes with a female high school classmate, profanity, simulated marijuana use, and riding a bike. Must be comfortable handling a prop firearm. Should be able/willing to rap, and make beats with hands on a table, cafeteria-style. Virginia Southern accent a plus.
There will be an intimacy coordinator and an armorer present.
[JAY COOK] 14-18, white adolescent male. Wants more, mostly to be more than his rural Virginia, small-town life. Has an attitude bigger than his actual influence and a desperate need to prove himself. A rough home life. His mom is the glue between three stubborn men, always in conflict with each other: Jay, his brother, Tracy, and their dad. Jay is always pushing boundaries, whether it’s stealing weed from his older brother, dodging his dad’s wrath, or acting in pursuit of his rap star dreams. Fiercely loyal to his best friend Bee, although Jay often drags him into trouble. Reckless. Fearless. Believes consequences are a later problem. Has fully adopted hip-hop slang, swagger, and identity—even if it sits awkwardly on a kid from a Virginia trailer park. He doesn’t see the irony.
